Weifang University which is approved by the Ministry of Education as a full-time regular higher education university has a history of over 60 years. It lies in the famous historical cultural city of Weifang which is also known as the Kite Capital of the world with beautiful scenery. Covering an area of 1,200,000 square meters, the university is awarded as “Garden Style Campus” by provincial government. Characterized with a perfect combination of classical Chinese style and modern style with lakes, mountains and small forest on campus, the university provides an ideal place for moral breeding and knowledge learning.
WFU has more than 2100 staff among 21 teaching institutions. The university has 60 specialties in natural sciences, engineering, literature, economics, law, history, education, literature, management and agriculture. Students totaling over 22,000 come from 30 different provinces, municipalities or autonomous regions. WFU has always been active in international cooperation and exchanges. Friendly academic exchanges and cooperation relations have been established with universities in the Korea, Japan, USA, Canada, Britain and Austria.

From 2001 WFU was qualified to accept international students, over 200 international students from US, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries have studied in WFU.

The northern province of Shandong is located in the eastern coastal region of China. Covering A Continental area of 157,000 square kilometers and rough seashore area of 170,000 square kilometers, Shandong is the birthplace of Confucius and Mencius as well as Confucianism. As a Pivotal city in China’s transportation, Weifang is easy of access by any means. By air, Weifang can reach some big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or Haikou easily. You can also fly from Qingdao International airport, which is only one hour’s drive from Weifang. By train, you can reach almost every city in China, like Beijing, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Xi’an and Xining, etc. By car, four expressways go through Weifang: Jiqing, Weiwu, Weilai and Dongqing. By water, Weifang has two seaports.
